Shaping the Future – Rethinking Leadership
The ZU|kunftssalon at Zeppelin University is a unique forum where leaders, academics, and practitioners come together to explore the major questions shaping the future of Public Corporate Governance and Smart Government. In this inspiring atmosphere on the shores of Lake Constance, the attendees reflected on how responsible leadership can be realised within public administration and organisations.
As part of the programme, Evovia hosted the workshop “Leadership for Purpose and Vision: Digital Leadership Navigator – Simple and Effective,” co-led by Joachim Langagergaard and Svea Vierow in collaboration with Jessica Hobel and Emilia Fehr from Rolls-Royce Power Systems (RRPS). We discussed how vision-driven dialogues can help employees make clear connections between organisational vision, sense of purpose, and their day-to-day roles – with a particular focus on how these approaches can be practically embedded using digital tools.
During the workshop, participants had the opportunity to try out a digital leadership tool together, stepping into the role of an employee or manager to experience a structured vision dialogue firsthand.
We had it reaffirmed that managers in Germany are increasingly seeking this very approach to leadership. One participant noted, “I really like the idea of reflecting on our vision. The questions are thought-provoking and provide valuable support for managers to structure conversations.” Another added, “The tool makes it easier for employees to raise topics that are especially important to them.”
Svea Vierow, Leadership Consultant at Evovia and co-moderator, highlighted the momentum in the German context:
“Leaders in Germany are increasingly searching for new ways to connect strategy with meaningful dialogue. I was particularly impressed by how naturally the participants engaged with the format and how much curiosity they showed for applying it within their own organisations.”
Joachim Langagergaard, Director at Evovia, reflected:
“We are delighted that our approach has been received so positively in Germany. The strong and relevant contributions from participants are equally valuable to us, confirming that structured digital dialogues can have impact across borders and leadership cultures.”
The pilot project with Rolls-Royce Power Systems AG not only received encouraging feedback, but also marks the beginning of Emilia Fehr’s master’s thesis.
Our thanks go to Prof. Dr. Ulf Papenfuß for the invitation and the inspiring setting – and to Mia Wolfsdörfer for her outstanding support. This is just the beginning of a dialogue we are eager to continue in the context of leadership across both business and the public sector.
